From a solo trip to central-ish baja in early 2024, my second solo trip, and my third to this zone. One of the most picturesque surf spots I've ever had the pleasure of surfing. Natural sand dunes molded by the prevailing nw winds, which are offshore in these parts, with patches of joshua trees sprinkled amongst the wavy sand patterns. I'm imagining the cove shaped as a crescent moon from a bird's eye view. The road leading to this point break wasn't easy nor was it too grueling. Several hours of sharp gravel that could easily pop new and especially well worn rubber. Making sure tires are deflated and patch kits are nearby along with an air inflator is key. Food and water are no where to be found out here with the closest town at least 3 hours away and only carrying limited rations. While wi-fi or cell coverage is sparse to non existent more and more travelers are using Starlink internet in baja including the locals. During this trip a couple camped next to me taking Zoom meetings offered me their internet which I politely declined. One of the reasons I go there is to get away from the tech that consumes my daily life. It did leave me wondering what the surf forecast was looking like for the week ahead.
